Chance Decker from MHI has been a pleasure to work with so far. We had wind damage to our roof, and when our insurance company told us that our entire roof needed replacement we were shocked. Chance walked our roof and found additional problems that our insurance inspector missed. Because of Chance’s attention to detail, we were able get our insurance payment increased and the entire cost of the new roof covered. Chance has been very responsive and a please to work with. A+ customer service.Edit regarding the roof installation:Roof is completed. Unfortunately, I’m unhappy with the quality of the job. The roof looks sloppy. While the roof appears watertight so far, the Craftsmanship is not great. Seams are gapping, shingles are bent/curled, fascia is bent/not color matched, drip plates/edges are not lined up, and ridge vents are a Travesty (2 neighbors asked why my roof was “wobbly”).It was raining when they put up the roof and the crew was clearly rushing. I speak Spanish unbeknownst to the MHI crew, and I very clearly heard the crew commenting on the need to rush in the rain (clearly visible in the forecast), the low quality of their work due to rushing (specifically in putting down caulking and laying shingles), and heard one guy yelling at another to get the roofing materialsout of a mud puddle.MHI is sending their warranty crew out tomorrow, so I hope they are able to fix it. What a hassle. My concern is that if there are visible craftsmanship issues, there may be invisible issues as well.A second concern is that I spoke with my neighbor who has a similar home size to mine and has skylights that were replaced by MHI and his price seemed more reasonable than mine.MHI was the most expensive quote I received and I expected more based on the sales pitch and reputation/recommendations. It’s unfortunate that the job site manager thought that I would be happy with this job.MHI has been responsive to my concerns and is sending someone out tomorrow to hopefully remediate the situation and I will update the review in the future.Second edit:I was contacted by an MHI representative who requested photos of the problem areas. I sent him the photos and he said he would come out and make the repairs while I was away for a week. I returned today and the repair is have not been completed. This is becoming quite a hassle.
